Agreement Covers Smooth Jazz Network Plus Weekend Programming
New York, NY ? November 11, 2009 -- United Stations Radio Networks, Inc. ("USRN?), an independent leader in the creation and marketing of network radio programming, today announced a partnership with Broadcast Architecture, Inc., the world's leading provider of Smooth Jazz programming. The multi-year partnership agreement calls for United Stations to serve as Broadcast Architecture's affiliate relations and advertising sales arm throughout the domestic U.S. This announcement comes jointly from USRN's President/COO Jim Higgins and Broadcast Architecture's President/CEO, Allen Kepler, and it also comes immediately on the heels of Broadcast Architecture's announcement earlier today that Kepler will be wholly acquiring the company from former parent, Clear Channel.
Based in the Los Angeles area, Broadcast Architecture has been supplying radio stations with research, programming and consulting services since 1988. This new deal covers the many programming services offered by Broadcast Architecture including the Smooth Jazz Network®, providing consulting, research, and more recently programming for more than 75 radio stations across the United States and abroad. Also included in the new partnership will be the company's syndicated weekend programs, The Smooth Jazz Top 20 Countdown® and Smooth Jazz Weekend?. The company's research clients are not included in the new agreement with United Stations.
In making this announcement, USRN's Jim Higgins expressed his excitement about the new deal commenting, "Our relationship with Broadcast Architecture goes back nearly 15 years, and we're big believers in what they do. We also believe that there's a fantastic opportunity in today's radio climate to help them to expand the reach of their services as well as increase their revenue streams.? Broadcast Architecture's Allen Kepler added, "The team at United Stations completely understands our world both creatively and on the business side. Smooth Jazz remains the most unique format in radio and offers advertisers access to the most affluent and exclusive audience reached by the medium. We're extremely excited about our future with USRN as our partner.
United Stations Radio Networks, Inc. is America's leading independently owned and operated radio network. USRN currently produces and distributes dozens of format-specific programs and services accounting for nearly 5000 affiliations with commercial radio stations across the country. The New York-based company maintains programming, sales and affiliate marketing offices in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Washington and Nashville. USRN was founded in 1994 by radio pioneers Dick Clark and Nick Verbitsky.
