LOU DOBBS RANKED #8
ON TALKERS MAGAZINE’S TOP TEN LIST OF
MOST IMPORTANT RADIO TALK SHOW HOSTS

Lou Dobbs

New York, NY – February 19, 2009 – Talkers Magazine named America’s leading independent voice, Lou Dobbs, to its Top 10 list of the most important radio talk show hosts in America.  Talkers, the preeminent trade publication serving the talk media industry, ranked Mr. Independent at #8 on its annual Heavy Hundred list of the top talkers in the country.

Dobbs’ unprecedented rise into the Talkers Top 10 took less than a year.  The CNN con’s daily three-hour weekday long-form program, The Lou Dobbs Show, began broadcasting on March 3, 2008. Talkers recognized the New York Times best-selling author’s unique blend of political independence and economic expertise. The Lou Dobbs Show is one of the fastest-growing talk radio shows in history, growing from 17 affiliates at the time of the program’s launch to a daily lineup of more than 160 stations coast to coast.

Lou Dobbs has won nearly every major award for television journalism, including the prestigious Peabody Award, a Horatio Alger Association Distinguished American Award, and a Lifetime Achievement Emmy Award. He’s currently the anchor and managing editor of CNN’s Lou Dobbs Tonight and the author of three recent best-selling books: Exporting America, War on the Middle Class and Independents Day.

The Lou Dobbs Show is distributed nationally by United Stations Radio Networks, Inc., the nation’s leading independently owned and operated radio network. The company currently distributes and produces dozens of format specific programs and services to over 4,500 rated radio stations across the country.
