Labor Day Weekend Program Takes Listeners Backstage at Summer’s Hottest Concert
New York, NY – August 27, 2007 - United Stations Radio Networks, Inc., (USRN), an independent leader in the creation and marketing of network radio programming, today announced that the Labor Day edition of Hollywood Hamilton’s Weekend Top 30 will be packed with backstage coverage of the Scream Tour/Screamfest ’07. The program’s expanded coverage of the year’s biggest Hip Hop and R&B tour will feature interviews with tour headliners T.I. and Ciara and will air on the weekend of September 1-2, 2007. The announcement came from USRN’s EVP/Programming, Andy Denemark and Sean “Hollywood” Hamilton, host of the Weekend Top 30.
Screamfest is an annual Hip Hop/R&B summer tour now in its eighth year on the musical map. Screamfest ’07 is happening right now coast-to-coast and wrapping up on Labor Day weekend in Los Angeles. The tour, with nearly two dozen summer concerts, also had stops in Houston, Dallas, New Orleans, Atlanta and Denver as well as at New York’s Madison Square Garden. The Weekend Top 30 secured its exclusive tour coverage with the help of Contributing Reporter EZ, the afternoon drive personality from “95-7 The Vibe” in Kansas City (KCHZ-FM), a Cumulus Broadcasting station.
The Weekend Top 30 backstage audio gathered from Screamfest ’07 includes chats with the tour's co-headliners, Atlantic Records/Grand Hustle artist T.I. and the Scream tour’s only female artist, La Face/Zomba’s Ciara. T.I. currently has two hit songs on the charts, "Big Things Poppin'" and "You Know What It Is" featuring Wyclef Jean. Ciara, whose hit songs and hot dance moves have made her one of the most in demand stars of 2007, is on the road in support of her new hit "Can't Leave Em Alone" featuring 50 Cent. Additional interviews in the special edition program include backstage conversations with the tour’s leading support artists, T-Pain, Yung Joc and Lloyd.
HOLLYWOOD HAMILTON’S WEEKEND TOP 30 is a three-hour weekend countdown show hosted by Sean “Hollywood” Hamilton and is produced in two different mixes in order to serve both the Mainstream CHR and Rhythmic CHR formats. Each week the program brings affiliates and listeners the thirty biggest hits of the week. The Weekend Top 30 first aired in 1998 and the show has been nominated by Radio & Records as “National Syndicated Radio Show of the Year.” The combined CHR and Rhythmic CHR networks can currently be heard in nearly 100 markets across the U.S.
