"TONY & KRIS IN THE MORNING" JOINS UNITED STATIONS RADIO NETWORKS

Tony & Kris
Country Morning Show Expanding Coast to Coast

Cumulus Radio Stations On Board

New York, NY -- June 1, 2010 -- United Stations Radio Networks, Inc. (USRN), an independent leader in the creation, distribution and sales of network radio programming, today announced that, effective immediately, the network will begin marketing TONY & KRIS IN THE MORNING to both radio affiliates and national advertisers. United Stations President/COO Jim Higgins made the announcement at USRN’s New York headquarters in conjunction with Tony Randall and Kris Rochester, who are the show’s Nashville-based hosts as well as the owners of Tony & Kris Productions, LLC.

Tony & Kris in the Morning is a show that was born when Tony Randall and Kris Rochester met and began working together in the Gadsden, Alabama vicinity. Both have been in the radio business since they were teens; both began in 1986, Tony at age 18, Kris at 16. The pair worked at different stations in Northern Alabama before meeting in 1991. When they met and realized immediately that their personal chemistry worked on the air, the two launched a morning show. Not long after starting out, the pair landed at WHMA-FM in the Gadsden-Anniston, Alabama market where they met with great success. Less than a year later, they landed the plum assignment as the morning show at San Diego’s legendary country station, KSON-FM.

Tony & Kris had a fantastic ten-year run at KSON, San Diego, during which they won the ACM Award for Major Market Broadcast Personalities of the Year, and they were also nominated in the same category by the CMA Awards committee. The Morning Team then spent more than five years at a cross-town rival in San Diego, but their dream was to take their talents to a wider, national audience. To that end, Tony & Kris formed Tony & Kris Productions and partnered with Cumulus Broadcasting. Cumulus currently has "Tony & Kris in the Morning" on seven (7) of their Country Stations, and an eighth affiliate, the first non-Cumulus station on the new Tony & Kris network, was also added recently.

In making the announcement, Tony & Kris pointed out that "Working with John Dickey and Jan Jeffries of Cumulus has been a great experience and we’ve learned a lot from them in a very short time. Now, by adding the reach and network infrastructure of United Stations, we have real recipe for success and we’re extremely excited about extending the reach of our broadcast into as many new markets as possible."

USRN's Jim Higgins added "Tony & Kris are a great on-air team and they’ve already successfully demonstrated that they can deliver an award-winning morning show for Country Radio that is upbeat, hip and advertiser-friendly. This new marketing arrangement has positioned USRN to get the T&K show placed in a lot more markets nationwide."

Tony & Kris in the Morning is the first complete morning show in any format to be part of the United Stations lineup. The rest of the USRN Country Radio Programming lineup includes The Country’s HotList with Shawn Parr, The Road, Thunder Road, Country Giants, 25 Years of Hits, The American Christian Music Review and original Comedy and Morning Show Prep services for the Country format.

United Stations Radio Networks, Inc. is America's leading independently owned and operated radio network. USRN currently produces and distributes dozens of format-specific programs and services accounting for nearly 5000 affiliations with commercial radio stations across the country. The New York-based company maintains programming, sales and affiliate marketing offices in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Washington and Nashville. USRN was founded in 1994 by radio pioneers Dick Clark and Nick Verbitsky.
