THE ACOUSTIC STORM JOINS THE LINEUP AT UNITED STATIONS RADIO NETWORKS

Acoustic Storm

New York, NY – January X, 2007 -- United Stations Radio Networks, Inc., (USRN) an independent leader in the creation and marketing of network radio programming, today announced that, beginning with the first broadcast week of 2007, the network will begin distributing THE ACOUSTIC STORM, an acoustic-based rock program created and hosted by Jeff Parets. United Stations EVP/Programming, Andy Denemark made this announcement today at the company's Headquarters in New York City.

The Acoustic Storm is a three-hour weekend program (with an optional two-hour version available) during which host/producer Parets presents the full spectrum of acoustic rock with an emphasis on acoustic guitar-driven songs, including rarely heard "unplugged" versions of classic tunes in their purest form. Each week, the show also spotlights an artist in its “Eye of The Acoustic Storm” segment featuring music, bio information and sound bites. The show first debuted locally in Phoenix in late 1998 and then went into national syndication independently in 2003. The Acoustic Storm now boasts nearly 50 affiliates coast-to-coast and it airs on several types of radio stations including Classic Rock, Classic Hits and Adult Hits formats.

Jeff Parets is an East Coast native who made his way out to Phoenix in the mid-1970’s and has been working in that market ever since. In 1981, Jeff was named Program Director of KSTM-FM also known as The Storm at 107. It was that radio station and its moniker that led Jeff to the creation of The Acoustic Storm as a local show in the late 90's, then taking it into national distribution in November 2003. In making the announcement, USRN’s Denemark noted that “The Acoustic Storm is one of those classic cases where an independent producer finds a specialty niche and fills that slot for radio stations really well. Jeff Parets does a great job, and our hope in partnering with Jeff is to help him take his program’s reach to the next level with both stations and advertisers.” Parets added, “For the past eight years, I’ve focused all of my energies on The Storm, but as a one-man shop, there are limits to how far I can take the show on my own. United Stations displayed a very strong interest in the Acoustic Storm as well as sensitivity to the programming content, and I expect our relationship to provide the support systems that the program needs.”

The Acoustic Storm joins United Stations’ other offerings for the Classic Rock and Classic Hits formats which include Nights with Alice Cooper, Racing Rocks!, The Classics, The House of Hair and Morning Prep from The Launch Radio Network. United Stations Radio Networks, Inc., is the nation's largest independently owned and operated radio network. The company currently distributes and produces multiple format specific services to nearly 4500 rated radio stations across the country including Adult Contemporary, Album Rock, Contemporary Hit, Country, Oldies, Smooth Jazz, Talk and Urban. The New York-based company was founded in 1994 by radio pioneers Dick Clark and Nick Verbitsky.
