UNITED STATIONS RADIO NETWORKS SALUTES THE HEROES & WINNERS OF 2007 WITH ITS ANNUAL SEASONAL COUNTRY MUSIC PROGRAMS

Heroes & Winners

Specials Hosted By Rodney Atkins and Taylor Swift

Annual Specials Air as Thanksgiving and Year-End Programs

New York, NY – November 12, 2007 – United Stations Radio Networks, Inc., (USRN) an independent leader in the creation and marketing of network radio programming, today announced it has finalized its lineup for its Annual Holiday Country Music Specials and is offering stations its seasonal Country Heroes 2007 and Country Winners 2007 radio package. Recording artist and recent CMA Horizon Award nominee Rodney Atkins will serve as host for the Thanksgiving special Country Heroes 2007, while Taylor Swift, the winner of the CMA’s 2007 Horizon Award will fittingly anchor a year-end tribute to the most successful performers of the year with Country Winners 2007. This all-hit, star-studded country music package is written and produced for United Stations by Neil Haislop’s Country Forever Productions. Country Heroes and Country Winners are available to radio stations on a market exclusive basis through USRN.

Tennessee native Rodney Atkins, host of Country Heroes 2007, has had explosive success on the Country Music scene recently, in large part due to the popularity of songs from his 2006 collection through Curb Records titled If You’re Going Through Hell. That album has produced three consecutive #1 Country songs, the current hit, “These are My People,” “Watching You,” and the title track from the set, “If You’re Going Through Hell,” which also earned Billboard honors as the most-played song of 2006. Those songs and statistics helped Atkins win the Academy of Country Music Award as Best New Male Vocalist.

Country Heroes 2007 is a Thanksgiving weekend three-hour special that features the hottest stars in Country music paying tribute to the everyday heroes of their own lives while examining some of the “good news” stories of 2006. This show annually examines the little miracles that happen every day. From helpful neighbors and caring parents to national relief organizations that are on the scene when tragedy strikes, Country Heroes 2007 salutes parents, teachers, men and women in uniform as well as local community leaders who set daily examples of how to be a giving and charitable American on a daily basis. Rodney Atkins recently found himself in a heroic role when he was named as the celebrity spokesperson for the National Council For Adoption (NCFA), a leading adoption advocacy organization, a charity near and dear to Rodney.

Country Winners 2007 is the second three-hour holiday season retrospective set to air from the network, and this year’s edition will be hosted by Taylor Swift, whose meteoric rise to “winner” status has been unparalleled in the recent history of Country Music. Taylor’s self-titled Big Machine Records debut album was certified Platinum mid-year this year, her debut single, “Tim McGraw,” was a Top 5 Country hit and a Gold selling digital single (signifying sales of over 500k digital paid downloads). Her second single, “Teardrops on My Guitar” and her current Top 10 track, “Our Song” have been format favorites, and she won “Breakthrough Video of the Year” at the 2007 fan-voted CMT Music Awards in April. Taylor Swift also continues to be the top Country Artist at MySpace.com and a high-ranking Overall Artist in that digital space. To cap off her winning streak, just prior to her role as host of Country Winners 2007, Taylor Swift was a winner once again as she was named the CMA Horizon Award Winner for 2007.

Country Winners 2007 spends three-hours profiling the year’s biggest winners, from the artists who took home top honors and various music awards throughout the year, to the breakthrough and comeback artists of 2007. This year-end special also offers exclusive reflection on the year in Country Music from the hottest stars in Country, and shines a light on the concert tours, the impressive songs and momentous occasions that shaped the year in the Country format. The show will feature interviews with Country Music’s top artists of the year along with backstage audio from the major awards shows. The program airs nationally as a “year-ender” on the weekend following Christmas, December 28 through December 31, 2007.

Neil Haislop is recognized as one of Country Radios leading writers, researchers and producers. His association with United Stations, now in its second decade, includes his role as producer of the Country Giants series as well as these popular year-end "Heroes & Winners" specials and other seasonal specials. Haislop is also the author of "The Giants of Country Music," released by Billboard Books.

The Heroes and Winners shows join United Stations numerous other country music program offerings including The Crook & Chase Countdown and Updates, The Road, Country Giants, The American Christian Music Review (ACMR), Thunder Road, Morning Prep from The Pulse of Radio and Country Comedy.
