“Yes, Wetherbee is my real name,” says United Stations Radio Networks staff meteorologist John Wetherbee. “I have always been a ‘weather geek’, chasing storms while trying to serve others with life-saving information.” John Wetherbee is familiar to audiences all over the country for years as a radio and on-air personality. He has been Chief Meteorologist of WGNX-TV and WGCL-TV 46 (CBS) in Atlanta, as well as Channel 4 News in Nashville and Eyewitness News 3 in Chattanooga.
Mr. Wetherbee is sealed by the American Meteorological Society and certified by the National Weather Association. John served as president of Atlanta’s American Meteorological Society chapter and continues to serve on the national broadcast committee for the National Weather Association. He is a regular contributor to the University of Georgia’s Grady School of Journalism and continues to write for neighborhood newspapers.
